Why we need you

Clean water is a basic necessity of life for all people and it is unavailable in Miaani.  Even dirty water is scarce and must be obtained from a river that is 1.5 kilometers away, down a steep incline. It is often dry. The women and children collect it by digging into the mud at the bottom of the riverbed. It is grossly contaminated and must be boiled to remove some of the impurities. Many of the villagers, especially the children, become ill or have died after drinking it.
